Scope

This standard applies to all elastomeric products used in orthodontics, which are used intraorally or extraorally in conjunction with fixed or removable appliances for therapeutic purposes. Elastomer products include latex elastic traction rings, rubber chains, elastic cords, ligation rings for fixing arch wires, and tooth separation rings.
