Scope

This standard specifies the classification and structure, requirements, test methods, signs, labels, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage of sterile disposable arteriovenous cannulae (hereinafter referred to as arteriovenous cannulae). This standard is applicable to arteriovenous cannulation, supporting the cardiopulmonary bypass system, and used for drainage or perfusion of blood during open heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation.
