Scope

This standard applies to dental castings, brazed refractory investment materials and refractory molding materials without regard to the type of binder system or the specific application. This standard classifies investment materials according to their intended use and according to the heating process recommended by the manufacturer. This standard specifies the basic physical and mechanical property requirements and corresponding test methods for these materials. This standard also includes requirements for the information and instructions accompanying each package.
