Scope

This standard specifies a test method for measuring the axial force required to pull out or fail metal bone screws (hereinafter referred to as "screws") from specified materials. This standard is only used to confirm the consistency of the product being tested or to compare the force values of different products. It is not used to predict the force value of screws pulled out from human bones. This standard may not apply to screws for some special purposes. It is recommended that the applicability of this standard be considered from the perspective of the specific material of the screw and its intended use.
