Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 12756-2018 "Galvanized Steel Wire Rope for High-Pressure Hose" standard completely replaces the old standard of 1991 edition. This standard is mainly applicable to galvanized steel wire rope used as high-pressure hose skeleton reinforcement material, and can also be used as a basis for the selection of other rubber hose, plastic pipe and composite pipe reinforcement materials.

2. Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technical Evolution

With the development of industrial technology, the application scenarios of high-pressure hoses are becoming more and more extensive, and the performance requirements for steel wire ropes are also constantly improving. Compared with the 1991 edition of the standard, GB/T 12756-2018 has been optimized mainly in the following aspects:

  • Increased tensile strength level: Four new tensile strength levels have been added, namely 1960 MPa, 2060 MPa, 2160 MPa and 2260 MPa.
  • Expanded the wire rope diameter range: expanded from the original range of 1.0 mm to 5.0 mm to meet a wider range of application needs.
  • Optimized test methods and requirements: Modified the determination methods of key indicators such as zinc layer weight, torsion times, and breaking elongation.
