《GB/T 1621-2008工业氯化铁》由TC63（全国化学标准化技术委员会）归口，TC63SC1（全国化学标准化技术委员会无机化工分会）执行，主管部门为中国石油和化学工业联合会。
本标准规定了工业无水氯化铁和工业氯化铁溶液的要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、标签、包装、运输以及储存。本标准适用于以铁屑为原料采用氧化法制的无水氯化铁和氯化铁溶液。该产品主要用于印刷制版和电镀的腐蚀剂、染料工业的氧化剂和媒染剂、有机合成工业的催化剂、工业水处理以及制取其他铁盐和颜料的原料。 本标准与德国标准ＤＩＮ１９６０２：１９８７《水处理用（Ⅲ）铁盐交货技术条件》的一致性程度为非等效。
本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ１６２１―１９９３《工业氯化铁》。
本标准与原国家标准ＧＢ／Ｔ１６２１―１９９３的主要技术差异如下：
―――原国家标准将Ⅰ型（无水氯化铁）和Ⅱ型（氯化铁溶液）各分为优等品、一等品和合格品三个级别。本标准无水氯化铁设一等品和合格品；氯化铁溶液只设一个指标，不分等级（１９９３版４．２，
本版５．２）；
―――将无水氯化铁的合格品氯化铁含量由９２％提高至９３％（１９９３版４．２，本版５．２）；
―――将无水氯化铁的合格品不溶物含量由３．５％降低至３．０％（１９９３版４．２，本版５．２）；
―――本标准的氯化铁溶液增加了密度指标和试验方法（本版５．２和６．８）。

Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, labels, packaging, transportation and storage of industrial anhydrous ferric chloride and industrial ferric chloride solution. This standard is applicable to anhydrous ferric chloride and ferric chloride solution prepared by chlorination method using iron filings as raw material. The product is mainly used as corrosive agent in printing plate making and electroplating, oxidizing agent and mordant in dye industry, catalyst in organic synthesis industry, industrial water treatment and raw material for preparing other iron salts and pigments.
