Scope

This standard is applicable to the hydraulic testing of new and existing liquid petroleum pipelines. It proposes the procedures to be followed, the equipment to be used and the factors to be considered during the hydraulic testing of liquid petroleum pipelines. The procedures suggested in this standard are based on correct engineering judgment, but some requirements of national and local regulations may be different from the procedures specified in this standard. This standard is not intended to replace these regulations, so these regulations should also be implemented.
