Scope
This document specifies the principles, test solutions, specimens, test method selection, test procedures, result calculation, reproducibility, and test reporting for the quality test method for zinc coatings per unit area on steel products. This document applies to coatings including pure zinc, zinc-iron alloy coatings, zinc-magnesium alloy coatings, zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coatings, aluminum-zinc alloy coatings, and aluminum-zinc-magnesium alloy coatings. Other coatings, such as aluminum-silicon alloy coatings, should be followed accordingly.
