Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) pipe fittings are key components of building hot and cold water piping systems, and their performance directly affects system safety. Compared with the 2003 version, the main technical upgrades of GB/T18993.3-2020 include:

1. Material properties
- Density range: 1450-1650kg/m³ (GB/T1033.1 test)
- Vicat softening temperature: ≥103℃ (50N load)
- Light transmittance: ≤0.2% (to prevent algae growth)
2. Hydrostatic strength requirements
Take S5 series pipe fittings as an example, the following tests must be passed:
- 20℃/1h test: 5.47MPa no leakage
- 95℃/1000h test: 1.20MPa no crack
Implementation and application suggestions
1. Selection considerations
- Beige standard color pipe fittings are preferred (non-standard colors require special agreement)
- Check the matching degree between the socket depth of the pipe fittings and the pipe (formula: L≥0.5dn+6mm)
2. Installation quality control
Note for solvent-bonded pipe fittings:
- After assembly, stand at room temperature for ≥20 days or accelerate curing at 80℃ for 4 days
- The socket out-of-roundness deviation is controlled within 0.2-1.0mm (depending on the specification)
