1 Subject Content and Application Scope

This standard specifies the test method for acid and alkaline-resistance of porous ceramic.
This standard is applicable to the determination of acid and alkaline-resistance of porous ceramic.

2 Method Summary

2.1 Strength reduction method: boil the specimens of porous ceramics in 20% sulfuric acid solution (or 1% sodium hydroxide solution) for 1h and calculate the reduction rate of bending strength than that before corrosion.
2.2 Mass loss method: boil particle specimens in 20% sulfuric acid solution (or 1% sodium hydroxide solution) for 1h and calculate the loss rate of mass than that before corrosion.
