Scope
This standard specifies the test methods for the puncture resistance and dynamic tear resistance of protective clothing materials. Such punctures and tears can damage the garment or cause injury to the wearer by disrupting the integrity of the garment. When the risk of accidental injury is related to the degree of puncture and tear, determining its performance level can dictate the material to be used.
