As a Chinese geographical indication product, Dehua white porcelain has a standard system based on the characteristics of high-silicon and low-iron kaolin, and achieves its unique quality of "white as snow and thin as paper" through traditional processes such as beating, panning and washing. This standard systematically regulates the classification system of sculpture white porcelain and daily white porcelain for the first time.

Products are divided into four levels according to appearance quality: superior, first-class, second-class, and qualified. The glaze gloss of superior products must be ≥85.0, and the color difference of the complete set of products must be △E≤1.0. There is absolutely no defect in the front view of the head of a sculptured white porcelain figure.

Manufacturers should pay special attention to: the raw material traceability system must ensure that kaolin comes from the protection area of Dehua County, the firing temperature control must be in the range of 1250-1400℃, and the glaze whiteness test must be carried out in accordance with QB/T1503. It is recommended to establish a digital defect detection system to improve the grading accuracy.
