Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the water solubility of industrial chemicals (hereinafter referred to as products) by the flask method. This standard is applicable to basically pure substances with good stability and high solubility (greater than 10-2g/L) in water. This standard is not applicable to impure products (such as certain surfactants), unstable products and products unstable in water. The presence of impurities in the test substance will greatly affect the determination of the water solubility of the substance; It is not suitable for substantially pure substances with good stability in water but low solubility (less than 10-2g/L).
