Scope

This standard is applicable to the following types of water turbines, storage pumps and pump turbines: - Francis type; - Axial flow type; - Tubular flow type; - Diagonal flow type; - Impulse type. The descriptions in this standard about hydraulic turbines are also applicable to similar storage pumps or water pump turbines. This standard also involves power station buildings and other equipment that affect or are affected by the transformation, but it is not discussed in detail. This standard is used to identify, evaluate and implement hydraulic turbine renovation and performance improvement work, and can be used by owners, consultants and suppliers to determine the following matters: - Economic analysis of renovation and performance improvement; - scope of work; - technical requirements; - effect evaluation. The purpose of this standard is to: ——Provide assistance for the decision-making process; ——Provide information resources for the transformation; ——Identify major problems in the transformation process; ——Determine the key points in the transformation process.
