Introduction

1. Background and revision of the standard

GB/T 2967-2017 "Casting Tungsten Carbide Powder" is a comprehensive revision of the original standard GB/T 2967-2008. The main purpose of this revision is to meet the needs of industry development and improve the technical requirements and quality control level of products. The new standard adds normative references, modifies product classification and grades, adds spherical casting tungsten carbide powder and its performance requirements, and optimizes key indicators such as chemical composition and particle size range.


2. Comparison of standard frameworks

3.1 Product classification and brand rules

Cast tungsten carbide powder is divided into irregular cast tungsten carbide powder (YZF) and spherical cast tungsten carbide powder (YZQF) according to the particle morphology, which are suitable for different application scenarios respectively. 3.2 Chemical composition requirements

Irregular cast tungsten carbide powder (YZF) and Spherical cast tungsten carbide powder (YZQF) The chemical composition must meet the requirements of Table 1 and Table 2, mainly controlling the content of impurities such as free carbon, oxygen, and iron. When calculating the tungsten content by the reduction method, the data accuracy should be ensured.

3.3 Particle size range and bulk density

Different types of cast tungsten carbide powder have specific particle size requirements, which need to be determined by GB/T1480 dry sieving method and GB/T1479.1 funnel method. For example:

4.1 Precautions for selecting standards

When selecting applicable standards, it is necessary to comprehensively consider product use, particle size requirements and performance indicators. For new spherical cast tungsten carbide powder, it is recommended to give priority to GB/T 2967-2017.

4.2 Optimization of inspection methods

It is recommended that enterprises establish a complete inspection system, equip with necessary instruments and equipment (such as Vickers hardness tester, Hall flow meter, etc.), and strengthen the training of inspection personnel.
