Scope

This standard specifies a method for characterizing samples containing single-walled carbon nanotubes using TGA in an air atmosphere. This standard is applicable to the purity evaluation of single-walled carbon nanotube samples by quantitatively testing the content of non-carbon impurities (such as metal catalysts) in materials, and the quality evaluation of thermal stability and uniformity of samples containing single-walled carbon nanotubes. This standard is not applicable to confirm the existence of single-walled carbon nanotubes and verify the composition of metal impurities.
