Scope
This document specifies the designation method, ordering details, manufacturing process, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certification for steel wire rod for welding. This document applies to steel wire rod (hereinafter referred to as "wire rod") used in the manufacture of welding materials for applications such as metal arc welding, submerged arc welding, electroslag welding, gas shielded welding, laser hybrid welding, and additive manufacturing.
