Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 34661-2017 "Technical Requirements for Explosion-Proof Oil and Gas Recovery Systems" mainly stipulates the classification of hazardous locations, general technical measures, test methods and marking requirements for oil and gas recovery systems used in gas stations, tank trucks and oil storage depots, and is applicable to environments that handle Class IIA fuel gas or vapor.

2. Classification of hazardous locations

Type of location Scope of application Level of hazardous area
Gas station Area surrounding the gas dispenser and oil and gas recovery device Zone 1 or Zone 2
Oil tanker Space inside the protection box at the outlet of the oil and gas circuits Zone 1
Oil storage depot Area surrounding the oil and gas collection system and processing device Zone 0, Zone 1 or Zone 2

3. General technical measures

Equipment explosion-proof requirements

All equipment used in hazardous locations must comply with the requirements of GB 3836.1-2010 and GB 25286.1-2010, and adapt to Class IIA, Group T3 gas or steam environments.

Oil and gas compressors

Explosion-proof temperature monitoring sensors must be installed, and the actual temperature after shutdown must not exceed the allowable value. The outlet pipeline design should avoid high-speed airflow causing local high temperatures.

4. Implementation suggestions

  • Equipment selection: Select the appropriate explosion-proof type (such as flameproof enclosure, intrinsically safe type, etc.) according to the level of the hazardous area.
  • Installation and maintenance: Ensure the anti-permeability performance of oil and gas pipelines and hoses, and regularly check the status of flame arresters and seals.
  • Safety management: Establish a hazardous area identification system, strengthen operator training, and ensure effective grounding and equipotential connection.
