Introduction
National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 35232—2017
In-depth interpretation and application of ground meteorological observation specification sunshine
Background and significance of standard formulation
GB/T 35232—2017 "Ground Meteorological Observation Specification Sunshine" is one of the series of standards of "Ground Meteorological Observation Specification", which aims to unify and standardize the technical requirements and methods of sunshine observation in ground meteorological observation.
As an important meteorological element, sunshine measurement data is widely used in climate analysis, weather forecast, agriculture, energy and other fields. The formulation of this standard ensures the consistency and accuracy of sunshine observation and provides a reliable basis for scientific research and practical application.
Definition and technical requirements of sunshine hours
| Dimensions | Specific requirements | Standard basis |
|---|---|---|
| Definition | Sunshine hours refers to the sum of each segment time when the direct solar irradiance is greater than or equal to $120~\mathrm{W/m^{2}}$. | GB/T 35232—2017 Chapter 3 Terms and Definitions |
| Observation items | Sunshine hours per minute, hour and day. | GB/T 35232—2017 Chapter 4 General Requirements |
| Recording accuracy | The unit is hours, accurate to 1 decimal place. | GB/T 35232—2017 Chapter 4 General Requirements |
Observation instruments and installation specifications
dark tube pyranometers and focusing pyranometers are used for manual observation, direct pyranometers, global pyranometers and scattered pyranometers are suitable for automatic observation.
Instrument installation requirements:
- Choose an open, unobstructed terrain to ensure unobstructed sunlight from sunrise to sunset.
- The installation location must comply with the provisions of GB 31221 on the height angle of obstacles.
Manual observation and record arrangement
Use of dark tube sunshine meter:
- Replace sunshine paper after sunset every day, ensuring that the 10 o'clock line is aligned with the white line at the tube mouth, and the 14 o'clock line is aligned with the white line at the bottom of the tube.
- The drug application process must be carried out in the dark, and absorbent cotton should be used to evenly apply the developer and photosensitive drugs.
Use of focusing sunshine meter:
- Replace the appropriate arc-shaped paper according to different seasons.
- Record the scorch marks and calculate the hourly and full-day sunshine hours.
Automatic observation methods and technological evolution
Direct radiation measurement method:
- The instrument automatically tracks the sun and records the time when the direct radiation is greater than or equal to $120~\mathrm{W/m^{2}}$.
- The data logger processes and stores the sunshine hours.
Total radiation measurement method:
- Calculate direct radiation by $ S=(E_{\mathrm{g}}-E_{\mathrm{d}})/\mathrm{sin}h $.
- Accumulate sunshine hours based on the calculation results.
Recommendations for standard implementation
To ensure the effective implementation of GB/T 35232—2017, it is recommended that:
- Strengthen personnel training and master the skills of instrument installation, use and maintenance.
- Select observation instruments that meet the standards and calibrate them regularly.
- Establish a data quality control system to ensure the accuracy and consistency of observation data.
