GB/T 3630—2017 "Sawn Plates, Strips and Foil" is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which is used to regulate the production and quality requirements of niobium (Nb) and its alloy materials. This standard replaces the previous GB/T 3630—2006 version and has made a number of improvements in technical requirements and normativeness.

Refinition of chemical composition

The new standard specifies the chemical composition of niobium plates, strips and foils in more detail, adds content limits for a variety of alloying elements, and clarifies the maximum allowable values of impurity elements. These changes help improve the consistency and reliability of materials.

Case:For Nb1 grade plates, only the minimum content of the main alloying elements was specified in the 2006 version, while the maximum allowable values of impurity elements such as Fe and C were added in the 2017 version to ensure the stability of material properties.

Grading of dimensional deviation

The new standard divides the thickness, width and length deviations of products into two levels: Class I and Class II. Class I is suitable for products with high precision requirements, while Class II is used for general industrial applications.
