Introduction

National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 36802—2018

Adhesives for Solar Photovoltaic Backsheet Lamination

Background and Significance of Standard Formulation

With the transformation of global energy structure and the increase of environmental protection demand, solar photovoltaic power generation technology is becoming increasingly important. GB/T 36802—2018 "Adhesives for Solar Photovoltaic Backsheet Lamination" aims to standardize the quality requirements and test methods of backsheet adhesive, a key material for solar cell module encapsulation, to ensure its performance stability and reliability under different environmental conditions.

Standard Drafting Process

The standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and is under the jurisdiction of the National Adhesive Standardization Technical Committee. The main drafting units include Hubei Huitian New Materials Co., Ltd., Henan Academy of Sciences Institute of Chemistry Co., Ltd., etc., reflecting the advantages of the combination of industry, academia and research.

Comparison of standard frameworks

Dimensions GB/T 36802—2018 International comparison (such as IEC 61215)
Term definitions Clearly define the composition and application scope of backsheet adhesive. Keep consistent with international standard terms to ensure mutual recognition.
Performance grading Divided into primary, secondary and tertiary grades according to aging conditions. Refer to the environmental test requirements of international standards and adjust the test parameters.
Test method Detailed provisions for appearance inspection, solid content determination and other steps. Some indicators are in line with international standards, such as UV aging conditions.

Explanation of professional terms

Back sheet adhesive: used for coating on PET film materials, compounded with fluorine film or polyolefin film, to form a multi-layer structure of photovoltaic module packaging materials.

Yellowing index Δb: a key indicator to measure the degree of color change of materials after UV aging, ensuring the beauty and protective performance of the back sheet in long-term use.

Implementation suggestions

  1. Choose the right grade: according to the expected use environment of the photovoltaic module, choose a first-level, second-level or third-level back sheet adhesive that meets the requirements.
  2. Strict surface treatment: Ensure that the dyne value of materials such as PET film and fluorine film meets the standard requirements to improve the bonding effect and durability.
  3. Control coating process: Dry at 80~120℃ and accurately control the coating amount (8~10 g/m²) to ensure uniformity and reliability.
  4. Follow aging conditions: Test according to the aging conditions such as PCT, double 85, UV, etc. specified in the standard to ensure the stable performance of the product in extreme environments.

Technology evolution analysis

In recent years, the photovoltaic industry has gradually increased its requirements for backplane adhesives, from the initial single weather resistance requirements to multi-dimensional comprehensive performance evaluation. In the future, with the advancement of technology, backplane adhesives with higher transparency, lower yellowing index and more environmentally friendly will become the focus of research and development.
