GB/T 37449—2019 Standard Overview

National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 37449—2019 "Design Requirements for Offshore Platform Cranes in Ice Environment" (hereinafter referred to as "this standard") is a technical specification formulated for the design of offshore platform cranes operating in ice environments. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Marine Machinery, and the main drafting units include Wuhan Marine Machinery Co., Ltd. and the Seventh Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation.

Background of Standard Formulation

In the cold ice environment, offshore platform cranes face many challenges such as extreme low temperatures and sea ice coverage. In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the equipment, this standard puts forward specific requirements from multiple aspects such as material selection, structural design, power system, and electrical control, filling the technical gap in related fields in China.

Analysis of Key Technology Evolution

In recent years, with the rapid development of marine engineering, the requirements for cranes in ice operating environments have become increasingly stringent. This standard absorbs international advanced experience (such as API Spec 2C) and optimizes it in combination with domestic actual conditions to form a technical system with independent intellectual property rights.

Implementation suggestions

Material selection:Pay special attention to the material selection of key parts such as base column flange and slewing ring, and give priority to Z-direction steel and calm fine-grained forged steel.

Low temperature protection:Ensure that the hydraulic system and electrical components have low temperature resistance and are equipped with necessary heating devices. It is recommended to use low-hydrogen basic welding materials for welding construction.

Operation and maintenance:In extreme low temperature environments, the surface of the crane needs to be fully anti-iced, including electric heating or wrapping protection measures for key parts such as walkways and ladders.
