Key technical improvements
Compared with ISO9449:2007, this standard has made three important technical changes:
- A new series of B-type hollow locating pins has been added to meet the domestic mold industry's demand for low-cost locating components
- The wall thickness parameter of D1=32mm specification has been adjusted, and the inner diameter d has been changed from 25mm to 24mm, increasing the structural strength by 15%
- Material hardness requirements have been clarified, type A adopts GCr15+ quenching process, and type B adopts 45 steel quenching and tempering treatment
Typical application scenarios
In automotive injection molds, Type A hollow locating pins are often used for:
- Precision positioning of the fixed mold base plate and the fixed mold plate (matching accuracy ≤0.02mm)
- Multi-point positioning system for large molds (4-8 locating pins are required at the same time)
Type B hollow locating pins are more suitable for:
- Assisted positioning of the rapid mold change system
- Cost-sensitive applications of small and medium-sized molds
Implementation suggestions
1. Selection principle: Type A is preferred for precision injection molds, and Type B can be considered for ordinary die-casting molds
2. Installation specifications: When pressing the locating pin, the liquid nitrogen cooling assembly process should be used to avoid deformation caused by knocking
3. Maintenance points: Regularly check the wear of the locating surface, and replace it if it exceeds 0.05mm
