Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

This standard uses gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to determine the content of 24 aromatic amines in adhesive products, including two types of detection indicators: aromatic amine content (before use) and aromatic amine residue (after curing).

Instrument operation points

The standard recommends using a (5% phenyl)-methylpolysiloxane column and a three-step temperature program (60℃→210℃→230℃→250℃→280℃) to achieve effective separation of 24 aromatic amines. A typical case shows that 2,4-diaminotoluene (CAS 95-80-7) elutes at 12.3min, with characteristic ions m/z of 121/106/120.


Recommendations for the implementation of the standard

  1. Laboratories should regularly verify the linearity of the standard curve (R²≥0.995)
  2. It is recommended to make reagent blanks and parallel samples for each batch of samples
  3. For high-viscosity samples, the ultrasonic time can be appropriately extended to 45 minutes
  4. When the test value is close to the quantitative limit, the SIM mode should be used to improve the sensitivity

Background of the standard evolution

This standard responds to the restriction requirements of the REACH regulation on aromatic amines and establishes a unified test method for the Chinese adhesive industry for the first time. Compared with the EU EN 71-11 standard, the detection of 6 new aromatic amines such as 3,3'-dimethyl-4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane has been added.
