Introduction

Technical background of the standard

This standard is developed as a supplementary method to GB/T 9338-2008 for fluorescent brighteners used in plastic products, solving the applicability problem of traditional textile determination methods in polymer matrices. The 2020 revision added injection molding process parameters (185℃/5min) and special requirements for PVC plastic particles.

Key Operation Points

Case: A PVC pipe factory found that when the fluorescent agent addition amount was greater than 0.2%, the resin would degrade. The 0.01%-0.2% gradient verification recommended by this standard can avoid the problem of thermal stability of the material.

Attention should be paid during the board making process: Mixed material uniformity directly affects the measurement accuracy. It is recommended to use a special mixing bottle for three-dimensional mixing; insufficient cooling time will lead to a high whiteness value, and room temperature equilibrium must be ensured for more than 30 minutes.


Implementation suggestions

1. Standard sample management: It is recommended that enterprises establish a standard sample library and seal it together with suppliers according to clause 6.1 of the standard

2. Equipment selection: and whiteness meter should comply with the requirements of GB/T 9338. It is recommended to calibrate with a standard white plate every month

3. Data recording: The original data should be completely saved according to the requirements of Chapter 7, with special attention to the injection molding temperature fluctuation record
