This standard systematically constructs a quality grading system for red deer antler for the first time, and focuses on standardizing the grade indicators of four main types of antlers:

Ossification circle detection specification

Use a ruler (accuracy 1mm) to measure the cross-section of the saw cut, and the allowable range for different grades is:

First-class product: ≤0.5cm (three-branched velvet)
Second-class product: ≤1.5cm (four-branched velvet)
Substandard products: >2.0cm will be directly eliminated

Moisture control requirements

Strictly implement the limit of ≤13%. When sampling, samples more than 0.5cm in the middle section must be cut and tested according to the methods of Part IV of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
