This standard was proposed by the China Building Materials Federation and is managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Industrial Glass and Special Glass.

With the increasing demand for high-performance quartz glass in the fields of optics, optoelectronics, etc., it is essential to accurately measure its spectral transmittance characteristics. This standard is based on the principle of spectrophotometer and combined with industry practical experience, aiming to provide unified technical specifications for related product testing.
