《GB/T 5480.4-2004矿物棉及其制品试验方法 第4部分:纤维平均直径》由TC191（全国绝热材料标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国建筑材料联合会。
本部分规定了两种测定矿物棉及其制品纤维平均直径的方法。显微镜法规定了仪器及材料、试样制备、试验步骤、计算和试验结果；气流仪法规定了原理、试验仪器、试验步骤和试验结果。显微镜法适用于不小于3μm的矿物棉及其制品。气流仪法，A法适用于4．0μm～7．6μm的岩棉、矿渣棉及其制品，B法适用于3．0μm～5．5μm的玻璃棉。显微镜法为仲裁试验方法。

Scope

This standard specifies two methods for determining the average fiber diameter of mineral wool and its products. The microscopy method specifies instruments and materials, sample preparation, test procedures, calculations and test results; the air flow method specifies the principles, test instruments, test procedures and test results. Microscopic method is applicable to mineral wool and its products not less than 3μm. Air flow meter method, method A is suitable for rock wool, slag wool and their products from 4.0 μm to 7.6 μm, method 8 is suitable for glass wool from 3.0 μm to 5.5 μm. Microscopy is the referee test method.
