本标准规定了固体化工产品中水分测定的通用方法----干燥减重法。本方法适用于加热稳定的固体化工产品中水分的测定。


Chemical products for industrial use - General method for determination of water content - The loss of mass on drying method

1 Scope

This standard specifies the general method for determination of water content in chemical products for industrial use, i.e. the loss of mass on drying method.

This method is applicable to the determination of water content in solid chemical products heated to stabilization.

2 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

2.1
the loss of mass on drying method
method of reducing the mass of solid matter by evaporating volatile substances, including water, in solid products by heating

Note: When the actual water content in products is determined using the loss of mass on drying method, the following three conditions shall be met:

 only water is volatilized;

 no chemical change occurs, or although chemical change occurs, it is not accompanied by mass change;

 water may be completely removed
