Analysis of the core content of the standard
This standard integrates GB/T 9797-2005 and GB/T 9798-2005, adds the microcrack chromium plating type and STEP test method, and strengthens the potential difference requirements for multi-layer nickel plating.

Key measurement methods
Thickness measurement: The coulometric method (GB/T 4955) and microscope method (GB/T 6462) are preferred, and the X-ray method (GB/T 16921) is suitable for online detection.
Pore detection: Microporous chromium needs to be verified by the copper sulfate constant pressure test (Appendix C), requiring ≥10,000 pores/cm².
Implementation recommendations
- High-strength steel parts (≥1000MPa) must be subjected to stress relief before plating (GB/T 19349) and dehydrogenation treatment after plating (GB/T 19350)
- The copper base thickness of complex workpieces is recommended to be increased to 15μm to ensure coverage
- The risk of gloss loss of micro-crack chromium plating is higher, and the thickness can be increased to 0.8μm to delay failure
