This standard was formulated by the Monetary Gold and Silver Bureau of the People's Bank of China and systematically regulated the circulation quality requirements of coin-type RMB for the first time. As a financial industry standard under the framework of GB/T 1.1-2009, its implementation effectively solved the problem of financial institutions lacking a unified criterion in coin clearing business.

1. Specification standards
Coins with diameter and weight deviations exceeding ±5% and edge thickness deviations exceeding ±10% are judged as unsuitable for circulation. Take 1 yuan coin as an example:
- Standard diameter 25.00mm, not suitable for circulation range 23.75-26.25mm
- Standard weight 6.05g, not suitable for circulation range 5.75-6.35g
