Scope

This standard specifies the general test items, test conditions, test methods and acceptance criteria used for the qualification of safety-level pneumatic control valves in nuclear power plants. For valves with specific functions, supplementary tests can be carried out according to the requirements of the technical specifications. The accessories used by the control valve, such as solenoid valves, positioners, etc., need to be certified according to the corresponding standards and are not within the scope of this standard. This standard is applicable to control valves installed in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants that are required to maintain performance after experiencing normal operating conditions, abnormal operating conditions and nuclear power plant design basis events. This standard can also be used as a reference for the identification of regulating valves in other types of nuclear power plants.
