Scope

This standard specifies methods for quality apprais l of safety-grade flooded lead-acid batteries (referred to as batteries) and their supports for nuclear power plants using type testing, operating experience or analytical methods. This standard is applicable to the quality apprais l of safety-level batteries and their brackets installed outside the containment shell of nuclear power plants. This standard does not include requirements for battery capacity determination, maintenance, testing, installation, etc. This standard does not apply to battery charging equipment and other types of batteries.
