Introduction

Standard Overview and Development Background

QX/T 254-2014 is the first technical standard in the meteorological industry specifically for the cataloging of meteorological video materials, and was compiled by Huafeng Meteorological Media Group. This standard responds to the technical requirements of GY/T 202.1-2004 of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and establishes a four-layer cataloging system in combination with the characteristics of the meteorological industry to solve the problems of classification confusion and search difficulties in the traditional management of meteorological audio and video materials.

Catalog Hierarchy Analysis

Level Description Focus Core Field Application Scenario
Program Level Meteorological Element Characteristics 10 Enumeration Items Such as Weather Phenomena and Disaster Warning Archive of Entire Program
Fragment Level Content Presentation Form Fragment Form (Oral Broadcast/Interview, etc.) News Material Extraction
Scene Level Spatiotemporal Correlation Information Theme, time and space scope Disaster process tracking
Lens layer Visual element classification Expression subject type (character/equipment, etc.) Special effects material library construction

Key technical points of key recording items

Weather phenomenon recording case

For the typhoon "Lekima" reporting video, it is necessary to record the following three related fields at the program layer at the same time: Weather phenomenon (typhoon), Meteorological disaster (typhoon), and Warning signal (red typhoon warning), so as to realize multi-dimensional related retrieval of disaster events.

Implementation Suggestions

  1. Metadata Mapping: It is recommended to convert the standard vocabulary (Appendix B) into the controlled vocabulary XML format to facilitate docking with the media asset system
  2. Quality Control: Establish a completeness check mechanism for the recorded items, and the missing rate of required fields should be <5%
  3. Technology Evolution: The AI automatic indexing function can be expanded, such as automatically annotating the lens layer performance subject through image recognition
