Introduction
Standard Overview
QX/T 235-2014 specifies the BUFR coding format for commercial aircraft meteorological observation data (AMDAR). This standard is based on the WMO FM94 specification and is applicable to the standardized representation and exchange of aviation meteorological data.
Core coding structure
| Data segment | Number of octets | Key content |
|---|---|---|
| Indication segment | 8 | BUFR start flag, version number |
| Identification segment | 23 | Data source, generation time |
| Data description segment | 33 | Element descriptor (temperature/wind speed, etc.) |
Key technical points
1.
Data element coding
The quantization method of scale factor + reference value is adopted, for example:
- Temperature: Kelvin unit, scale factor 2, 16-bit width
- Wind speed: m/s unit, scale factor 1, 12-bit width
2. Status Coding Specification
The flight status adopts 15-level classification coding (Table A.1), for example: Code 3 indicates horizontal flight routine observation (LVR)
Implementation Recommendations
Data Processing Precautions
- Time is uniformly coded in UTC time zone
- Missing data needs to be filled with all 1 bits
- The BUFR version number needs to be verified (currently 15)
Typical application scenarios
The North China Air Traffic Control Bureau uses this standard to achieve efficient exchange of flight weather data with the Meteorological Information Center, shortening data delay to minutes.
