Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, inspection and determination of import and export garment machinery. This standard applies to all machinery and related equipment used in the textile industry for the following purposes:
　——opening, cleaning, mixing, combing, preparation after combing, spinning and other processes of yarn or non-woven fabrics (including felt) made from fibers (short fibers and filaments) and other raw materials;
　——yarn winding, twisting, curling, texturing processes, etc. and yarn preparation processes before spinning and knitting;
　——weaving, knitting, lace weaving and other similar devices for forming fabrics;
　——weaving of braids, ropes, hemp, nets, etc., except the winding frame of the rope twisting machine;
　——preparation, bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing of fibers, yarns, fabrics, braids, ropes, etc. and factory assembly. - piece dyeing of finished products;
　——finishing of warp knitting and weft knitting, including hosiery, but not including the stitching (i.e. sewing) of finished products - weaving and tufting processes for carpet production. Additional special safety requirements for garment machinery specified in other standards take precedence over the corresponding requirements of this standard.
