Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of total mercury in medicinal plants by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP/MS) and atomic fluorescence. This standard is applicable to the determination of total mercury in medicinal plants such as safflower, Chuanxiong, angelica, American ginseng, forsythia, senna and other medicinal plants or similar medicinal plants. The lower limit of determination is 0.005 mg/kg.
