Analysis of 5G network slicing architecture carried by SPN

The end-to-end slicing architecture based on SPN adopts a three-layer collaborative design:

Comparison of Four Basic Slicing Service Types

The four types of slicing service types defined by the standard have significant differences in isolation and resource reuse:

Key technologies for forwarding layer docking

The standard adopts the triple identification scheme of port+VLAN ID+priority:

  • VLAN ID: locally valid, supports 4K space allocation
  • Priority mapping: the default conversion rule of 5QI→DSCP/VLAN PRI (such as 5QI1 corresponds to EF46/DSCP5)
  • Secondary mapping is implemented in the SPN through MPLS label stack and MTN encapsulation

Control and management plane collaboration mechanism

The interaction process between NSMF and NSSMF includes three key stages:

  1. Resource pre-negotiation: Collect SPN port/VLAN resource pool information
  2. Slice instantiation: Decompose SLA requirements and issue them to TN/AN/CN NSSMF
  3. Identifier mapping: Establish a many-to-many association between S-NSSAI and NSSI

Typical deployment case: A smart manufacturing park adopts a Type 1 + Type 3 hybrid solution. Key control instructions are guaranteed by dedicated MTN channels, and monitoring data is carried by shared VPN.


Implementation Suggestions

Focus on standard implementation:

  • Resource planning: It is recommended to adopt a hierarchical VLAN allocation strategy (independent numbering for access layer/core layer)
  • QoS assurance: It is necessary to unify the 5QI-DSCP mapping table and pre-set emergency plans
  • Operation and maintenance collaboration: Establish a cross-domain KPI correlation analysis mechanism
