Scope

This standard specifies the physical performance test methods of automobile timing belts (that is, timing belts used to drive some parts of automobile engines such as camshafts, fuel injection pumps, and balance shafts). These test methods can be used to illustrate the static performance of the synchronous belt, but the applicability of the belt should also be investigated through dynamic tests and mileage tests.
