Scope

This standard specifies the method guidelines for measuring the thickness of materials using the contact pulse-echo method at a temperature not exceeding 93.3°C. This standard is applicable to the thickness measurement of any material in which ultrasonic waves can propagate at a constant speed and the back reflection can be obtained and resolved. Values expressed in either imperial or SI units may be used alone as nominal values.
