Introduction

Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

GB/T12729.2-2020, as the core part of the spice standardization system, inherits the technical accumulation of the 1991 and 2008 versions, and mainly achieves three upgrades: standardization of terminology system, refinement of operation procedures and clarification of equipment requirements. The 2020 version adjusts the sampling location requirements to normative annotations, and adds a list of special equipment in Chapter 4, reflecting the requirements of modern testing technology for tool standardization.

Analysis of key term definitions

Terms 2020 version definition 2008 version comparison
Basic sample A small amount of goods taken from one location in the batch (with confirmation of multi-point sampling) The definition directly includes the requirement of multi-point sampling
Mixed sample The sample after all basic samples are mixed evenly The standard of mixing uniformity is not specified

Key points of sampling operation

Case: When a spice company processed a 50kg peppercorn delivery batch, it followed the standard requirements:

  1. Calculate the number of packages to be sampled: 50-100 packages are sampled at 10%, so 5 packages
  2. Use a standard sampling stick to take basic samples in different directions
  3. After mixing, divide into four equal parts, of which the arbitration sample is sealed in a glass container

Sampling location Multi-point sampling is explained through annotations Write directly into the definition text

Implementation suggestions and precautions

1. Equipment verification: The sampling stick should meet the requirements of GB/T 6679 for solid sampling tools, and cleanliness verification should be carried out before use

2. Environmental control: When the humidity is higher than 65%, the dehumidification equipment should be started to prevent the spices from absorbing moisture and affecting the representativeness of the samples

3. Arbitration storage: It is recommended that arbitration samples be stored in brown glass bottles filled with nitrogen and the temperature should be controlled at 15-25℃
