Scope

This part of GB 14048 specifies the requirements for protective conductor terminal blocks mainly used for industrial threaded or non-threaded clamping parts. The terminal block with PE protection function is not larger than 120 mm² (250 kcmil ), terminal blocks with PEN protection greater than or equal to 10 mm² (AWG 8). Protective conductor terminal blocks are used for electrical and mechanical connection between copper conductors and mounting brackets. This section applies to AC circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1 000 V, frequency up to 1 000 Hz and DC circuits not exceeding 1 500 V with a connection cross-sectional area of 0.2 mm²~120 mm² ( AWG 24 kcmil~250 kcmil) protective conductor terminal block for prefabricated or non-prefabricated round copper conductors, the protective conductor terminal block and the terminal block specified in GB/T 14048.7-2016 are usually used together. The following products can use this part as a guide: --Protective conductor terminal blocks that require special devices on the wires, such as quick-connect terminals or wrap-around connections; --Pierce the insulation by means of edges or points Protective conductor terminal blocks in direct contact with conductors, such as insulation transfer connections, etc. When referring to GB 14048.1-2012, this part uses the term "clamping piece" instead of "terminal".
