Scope

This part specifies the method for testing the power characteristics of a single wind turbine, and is applicable to the tests of all types and specifications of wind turbines connected to the grid for power generation. This section applies to determine the absolute power characteristics of a wind turbine, also applies to determine the difference between the power characteristics of various wind turbines of different structures. The power characteristics of the wind turbines are determined from the measured power curves and used to estimate the annual energy production (AEP). The measured power curve is determined by the collected instantaneous wind speed and power output value. This test should have a long enough measurement time in the test field and be established on the basis of an effective statistical database. The database should cover a certain range of wind speed and Various wind conditions. The annual power generation is calculated using the measured power curve corresponding to the frequency distribution of the reference wind speed, assuming that the availability rate is 100%. This section describes a measurement method that requires that the measured power curve and the derived annual production be corrected by complementary errors and their combined effects.
