Scope

This standard specifies the technical delivery conditions, manufacturing process, material requirements, shape and size, inspection and test procedures for aluminum alloy drill pipes with or without steel joints used in drilling and production operations in the petroleum and natural gas industry. The standard provides a typical drill pipe structure, showing its main parameters and lengths (see Figures 1 to 4), and provides the main dimensions and weights of drill pipes of this steel grade. This standard does not consider the performance of drill pipes. Note 1: The detailed requirements for drill pipe joint threads refer to ISO10424-2 and ISO27627; Note 2: The performance of drill pipes refers to ISO20312; Note 3: The threaded connection detection between the drill pipe body and the joint refers to ISO27627. This standard applies to the manufacture and acceptance of aluminum alloy drill pipes for drilling projects such as oil and natural gas.
