This standard specifies the ion chromatography determination method for sodium iodate in cosmetics, and is applicable to the detection of sodium iodate in creams, lotions, and liquid cosmetics. Its detection limit is 0.00005%, and the quantification limit is 0.0002%.

Background of Standard Formulation

According to my country's "Cosmetic Hygiene Standards", sodium iodate is only allowed to be used in rinse-off products, and the maximum allowable concentration is 0.1%. The formulation of this standard aims to provide a methodological basis for the detection of sodium iodate in non-rinse-off cosmetics.
