Scope

This part of GB/T 33260 is mainly applicable to the case where the calibration function is nonlinear, and it can also be used for linear cases. The basic methods given in this section are used to: — construct the precision profile function of the response variable, that is, a function of the net state variable, expressed in terms of the standard deviation (SD) or coefficient of variation (CV) of the response variable; — by means of calibration function to transform the precision profile function of the response variable into the precision profile function of the net state variable; ——Use the precision profile function of the net state variable to estimate the critical value and the minimum detectable value of the net state variable. When the methods given in GB/T 33260.2-2018 cannot effectively evaluate the detection capabilities of various types of measurement methods (measuring equipment), the methods given in this part are very useful. This includes the determination of persistent organic pollutants (POPs, such as dioxin, pesticides and hormone chemicals) and bacterial toxins that can cause high fever in the environment by competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). GB/T 33260.1-2016 and GB/T 33260.2-2018 describe the definition and applicability of the critical value and the minimum detectable value of the net state variable. This section extends the concepts in GB/T 33260.2 to nonlinear calibration situations. Both the critical value xc and the minimum detectable value xd are given in units of the net state variable. If xc and xd are defined based on the distribution of the response variable, then this definition should include a calibration function that transforms the response variable into a net state variable. The xc and xd defined in this section are based on the distribution of the net state variable, independent of the form of the calibration function. Therefore, this definition applies regardless of whether the functional form is linear or nonlinear. The calibration function should be continuous, differentiable, and monotonically increasing or decreasing. This part further gives the method when SD or CV is only known in the neighborhood of the minimum detectable value. Some examples are given in Chapter 6.
