Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

This standard constructs a naming system for power grid equipment covering all aspects of generation, transmission, transformation, distribution and use, and adopts a hierarchical path naming method to achieve unique identification of equipment. The main innovations include:

  • Establish a four-level naming structure of "grid. power station. voltage level. equipment"
  • Unify the mapping relationship between Chinese and English equipment naming
  • Expand the naming rules of distribution equipment and secondary systems

Comparison of naming system architectures

Naming hierarchy Transmission network equipment Distribution network equipment Secondary equipment
First level Regional power grid (such as North China) Municipal power grid (such as Chengdu) Main equipment/system
Second level Name of plant and station (e.g. Fangshan Station) Distribution line (e.g. Donggui Road) Device type (e.g. transformer protection)
Third level Voltage level (e.g. 500kV) Tower/RMU number Functional unit (e.g. differential protection)

Key Technical Points

1. Full path naming rules

Use decimal point" and left slash"/" as separators to construct a naming structure containing 8 types of name items:

  1. Grid level: Supports five-level description of country-region-province-city-county
  2. Plant and station identification: Power plants need to be marked with the type suffix (plant/field/power station)
  3. Voltage level: DC equipment needs to be prefixed with "DC" (e.g. DC500kV)
  4. Equipment type: Follow the standard abbreviations in Table 2-Table 5

2. Special treatment of distribution network

Special rules are formulated according to the characteristics of distribution network equipment:

  • Pole towers use the #n pole format (e.g.: #003-01 pole)
  • Cable joints are marked with the start and end positions (e.g.: #05 cable intermediate joint_#06 cable intermediate joint cable segment)
  • Ring main unit uses #n pole format (e.g.: #003-01 pole)
  • >geographic name + type (such as: Dunyuanzhou #1 ring main unit)

Implementation and application suggestions

System transformation path

The existing system needs to establish a naming mapping table to achieve standard conversion. It is recommended to implement it in three stages:

StageGoalKey tasks
Transition period (6 months) Dual-track operation Develop naming conversion middleware and establish a mapping relationship between the old and new identifiers
Switchover period (3 months) Gradual switchover Migrate in batches according to voltage level, giving priority to equipment of 220kV and above
Consolidation period (ongoing) Full compliance Establish a naming review mechanism and include it in the acceptance link before equipment commissioning

Typical problem handling

Common problems and solutions:

  • Multiple lines on the same pole: Establish an association between physical poles and logical numbers
  • Mixed-ownership equipment: Determine the grid to which it belongs according to the highest voltage level
  • Historical naming conflicts: Adopt the "original number + standard suffix" transition plan

Technology evolution analysis

This standard has three major upgrades based on SD240-1987:

  1. Scalability: Add new power system elements such as renewable energy power stations and DC equipment
  2. Compatibility: Semantic alignment with DL/T 860 (IEC 61850) and CIM models
  3. Refinition: Refine the naming of distribution network equipment to the tower level to support distribution automation construction

Future concerns:

  • Requirements for unique device identification in digital twin scenarios
  • Lightweight naming scheme for IoT terminals
  • Method of associating spatial coordinates with GIS systems
