Introduction

Introduction and Background

GB/T 33660—2017 "Guidelines for Accessible Design of Urban Public Transport Facilities" aims to improve the accessibility of urban public transport facilities and ensure that special groups such as the disabled and the elderly can use these facilities independently and equally.

Interpretation of design principles and requirements

5.1 Traffic sign design

The design of traffic signs should take into account the convenience of travel for visually impaired people, and optimize visual recognition by increasing the character size and contrast. At the same time, the setting of Braille signs should follow international common standards to ensure clear touch.

5.2 Traffic lights

Signals should be equipped with guide Braille nameplates and sound prompt devices, and the sound settings should be adjusted according to the ambient noise. It is recommended to use simple and easy-to-understand "birdsong" as a general prompt sound, and pay attention to avoid affecting surrounding residents.

5.6 Bus shelters

The design of bus shelters should take into account the convenience of wheelchair users, and the platform should be equipped with blind path prompt information. It is recommended to configure Braille bus stops or voice prompt service facilities to ensure that visually impaired people can use them conveniently.

Implementation Advice

  • Phase-based implementation:Prioritize the transformation of key traffic nodes and high-traffic areas, and gradually expand to cover the entire city.
  • Training and publicity:Provide professional training for design, construction and management personnel, and enhance public awareness through multi-channel publicity activities.
  • Dynamic evaluation:Regularly evaluate the use of facilities, and adjust and optimize design plans in a timely manner to ensure that the needs of different groups of people are met.
