Introduction
National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 33877—2017
Determination Method of Brightness of Fluorescent Penetrant for Nondestructive Testing
Background and Significance of Standardization
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T1.1-2009, and was proposed and managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nondestructive Testing (SAC/TC 56). The main drafting units include Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Xi'an Aircraft Branch of AVIC Aircraft Co., Ltd., etc.
This standard is formulated to unify the determination method of fluorescent penetrant brightness, ensure the accuracy and consistency of nondestructive testing results, and is applicable to factory inspection and verification of fluorescent penetrants during use.
Technical Specifications and Requirements
| Apparatus Components | Specifications | Preparation Procedures |
|---|---|---|
| Filter Paper | Non-fading open-textured paper | For absorbing the osmotic agent mixture |
| Pipette | 1 mL | Precisely measure the osmotic agent solution |
| Volume Flask | 25 mL with stopper | Prepare the osmotic agent dilution |
Determination method and calculation formula
According to the standard steps, use the fluorescence brightness meter to measure and calculate the relative fluorescence brightness value:
$\frac{\overline{{X}}}{\overline{{S}}} \times 100$
Where: $\overline{{X}}$ is the average reading of the tested sample; $\bar{S}$ is the average reading of the standard sample.
Implementation suggestions and precautions
Equipment calibration: The fluorescence brightness meter needs to be calibrated every year to ensure measurement accuracy. Use the calibration method provided in Appendix A.
Sample preparation: When preparing standard samples and tested samples, pay attention to controlling the concentration of the penetrant solution to ensure the accuracy of the results.
Data Statistics: The reliability of the measurement results is evaluated through confidence limit calculation (Equation (1) and Equation (2)), ensuring that the confidence level is at least 95%.
