GB/T 35394-2017 Standard Overview

This standard specifies the equipment requirements, test conditions and performance measurement methods for X-ray digital imaging detection systems, and is applicable to non-destructive testing of metal materials, non-metallic materials, composite materials and other products.

Key term explanation and application cases

Contrast to noise ratio (CNR): It is used to measure the ratio of the signal to the background noise in the area of interest in the image.

For example, when testing aluminum-magnesium alloy, a tube voltage of 90kV and a 1mm thick aluminum filter plate are required to ensure that GV_min ≥ 32% to meet the imaging requirements.

Implementation suggestions

  • It is recommended to give priority to the use of high-energy ray systems in actual detection to improve penetration ability
  • Regularly calibrate the bad pixels and background noise of the detector to ensure imaging quality
  • Select appropriate filter plate material and thickness according to the thickness of the workpiece
